Black Space

Black Space

Space is not totally dark as there is always some visible light, even among space dust particles. Such is the case with the moon. There is no dark side of the moon. The moon rotates along an axis with the earth, what is know as Tidal Locking, so we simply never see the other side. In addition, there is no such thing as zero gravity since when you are in orbit you experience a state that is called “zero gravity” or “microgravity” but gravity still affects your motion. An object in orbit is essentially in free fall. A satellite orbiting Earth is constantly being pulled toward Earth by gravity but it is moving sideways so fast that it follows a curved path that continuously missed Earth entirely. The principle applies to any object in orbit. Dig deep, peel back the onion, uncover the facts. It’s how we help our clients overcome CBP missing the science behind the exact makeup of their product and subsequently mistakenly not allowing an exclusion, and assigning a Section 301 tariff via a different HTS code, which BLG regularly files protests against. At BLG we love the science behind Global Trade Compliance.

Caterpillar to Butterfly

Caterpillar to Butterfly

The length of time it takes a caterpillar to turn into a butterfly depends on several factors including the butterfly’s species, host plant type, food availability, habitat threats, and weather conditions. The process of transformation is called metamorphosis, and it takes about two weeks for the butterfly to emerge from its chrysalis. Some transformations may take millions of years. Regardless of the time factor involved, substantial transformation is the key if you wish to convince CBP of the new country of origin. We love the science behind Global Trade Compliance which is all we do.

Aliens Among Us

A study by Harvard University’s Human Flourishing Program social science researchers suggests that aliens may have been living on Earth for a while. They suggest that life forms from other worlds could be living underground on Earth or within the moon. Customs, DHS and the FDA have been monitoring UFO sightings over vast stretches of farm land in various parts of the US. We love the science behind global trade compliance. It’s what we do. It’s ALL that we do.

We Are Not Alone

intergalactic trade

Scientists have discovered a new planet which they say could potentially support human life. Gliese 12b is a rocky planet just 40 light years away from our own with its size between Venus and Earth. The planet was discovered by an international team, in collaboration with NASA and the European Space Agency using data from NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). Gliese 12b falls into what astronomers call a “goldilocks zone,” with an average temperature of 107 degrees Fahrenheit, which is common in summer in various parts of earth. It makes on ponder
are we not alone? Scientists are also on the verge of discovering how to bend space and travel in quantum leaps with warp speed. Can you say “intergalactic trade”? I know you can, with fond memory of Fred McFeely Rogers, better known as Mister Rogers. We love the science behind global trade compliance which is what we do at BLG.

UFLPA

UFLPA

Your product originated in China and now Customs has detained your shipment at the U.S. port citing the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act as the reason. Keep in mind you are considered guilty until proven innocent which is an uphill climb. Don’t take too long deciding what to do as storage and then demurrage fees could pile up.

Mars

mars

In our decades of experience within international trade there is one thing we have yet to encounter: a transshipment via planet of origin Mars and that’s about the only thing we haven’t seen. We love the science behind global trade compliance. Global Trade Compliance is what we do at BLG.

Constellations

Constellations

There are 88 constellations officially recognized by the International Astronomical Union. This list of modern constellations was adopted by the IAU in 1922 and 36 modern constellation lie principally in the northern celestial hemisphere, while 52 are found in the southern sky. Ancient sailors navigated maritime trade routes using a combination of techniques including celestial navigation which is 4,000 years old. In the beginning it was primarily a multitude of spices traded among the various Mediterranean routes. To this day, the spice and seasoning trade is changing world history and has a market projected to grow to $26 billion by 2029. Braumiller Law Group loves the science behind global trade compliance.
