IMMEX a 2023 Review – What You Need to Know

Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 10:30 – 11:30 AM CST

(Q&A to follow)

Are you in an industry that is currently exploring manufacturing, transforming, or providing services in Mexico? Does the IMMEX acronym sound familiar?  Maybe you have done your initial research and have multiple questions that need answers from experts in Mexico regarding the subject matter. Perhaps from two attorneys in Mexico who have put together some of the largest IMMEX to date.

If so, then, this webinar is for you.

IMMEX is a federal government program for Mexican companies aimed at promoting foreign investment in Mexico. Generally, an IMMEX temporarily imports into Mexico materials, components, inputs, parts, etc., that undergo a production process for further export or return abroad. It may also import machinery, equipment and other assets necessary for such processes, including the administration of the program. IMMEX in relation to compliance may produce a reduction or saving of taxes and import duties, which, along with its proximity to the U.S. territory, make it very attractive to investors.

Nonetheless, controlling and managing an IMMEX is a complex task governed by a multitude of laws, decrees, rules, and other regulations. This makes compliance a real challenge for many. Therefore, constant training and education is a must.  During this webinar, the speakers will present information regarding customs regime, types of pedimentos, customs control for the temporary importation of goods, taxes, duties and fees, inventory control (Annex 24 and 30), VAT certification, notices from the government, USMCA article 2.5, ways to prevent or minimize sanctions and penalties, among other relative topics.

We are taking questions in advance of the webinar. Please forward to elisabethicpa@gmail.com.

Presenters will be Brenda Cordova, and Francisco De La Cruz, Braumiller Law Group’s Mexico Legal Counsel
